The yearly APAIE conference is the main event for the Asia-Pacific region for professionals and experts in higher education. The Conference attracts more than 2.000 delegates and about a hundred exhibitors. The 12th APAIE was held from March 20 to 24, 2017 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and was set around the following theme: "New Era, New Horizon, New Frontier Higher Education in Asia Pacific".
Four of the ITRU members (Boğaziçi University, Bilkent University, Koç University and Sabancı University) exhibited under the Turkish Research Universities stand as leading research universities of Turkey. Throughout the Conference, the delegates of these universities had meetings with university representatives from all around the world to discuss new and future cooperation as well as pledging to build stronger relationships. Delegates from Koç University presented five different sessions and representatives of Middle East Technical University also presented a session during the conference.
