The use and management of internationalisation data and indicators in universities – a unique project developed with collaboration from ITRU members

On September 22-23 we welcomed over 50 colleagues from higher education institutions from Turkey, Europe and Africa to the Koç University led HEIDA Project’s final conference in Istanbul. More information about the HEIDA Project can be found here: https://heida.ku.edu.tr/

The conference was free to register and offered those working in internationalization at universities an opportunity to reflect and gain new knowledge on the topics of management of data in higher education institutions and specifically how internationalisation data can be used for decision making. The conference offered participants ways to achieve this through sessions that looked at best practices, case studies, relevant projects in the area of international cooperation and quality assesment amongst others.

It was also an opportunity to showcase the free online software tool and training module that was developed as part of the HEIDA project and raise interest in the use of the tool amongst the participating institutions. The development process of the tool benefitted from the valuable input of colleagues from the ITRU Group who participated in consultation workshops and online surveys in 2015-16.

The second day of the conference offered participants the opportunity to visit three of Turkey's top-ranked research universities (Koç University, Boğaziçi University, Sabancı University) as part of our cooperation activities under the Internationalization of Turkish Research Universities (ITRU) group.
